North Central Indiana Sand VBC would like to announce our Summer Tryouts for the 2027 season (HS ages only). These tryouts will be for the 15s-18s teams. As always, we are extremely limited in the number of teams that we can support. The biggest limitation that almost every travel sport has, is the availability of coaches and those willing to coach. Finding head coaches and those willing to commit to the schedule is difficult. We continue to utilize our former players for coaches. This year we are losing a couple of great coaches due to school and other factors, and we will be needing new coaches to join us.
We will be asking for a $10 donation per player, as a tryout registration fee. As a club that does everything at cost and with no thoughts of profit, and to be honest, we run in the red every year in order to keep travel volleyball SOMEWHAT affordable… We are needing a bit of funds to cover our tryout costs for gym rental and other expenses, instead of just paying for those out of our pocket like we have been doing.
We will be trying to keep our fees around what they were. We are looking at ways to keep costs down, including dropping a travel tournament or two, shortening the season a few weeks, one coach per team, and less tournaments. We haven’t officially done anything, but the shortening of the season is interesting as we have a lot of multi-sport athletes and kids that are involved in all sorts of other things, and it is becoming INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT to have everyone able to attend tournaments once we hit the end of April and May. So the thought would be to end MOST seasons (maybe not the junior high teams) by the end of April, but then put some teams together based on availability for specific weekends in May. Just a thought. However, we are going to try to keep our rates the same as last season (for the most part).

14-2, 16-2 = $2200
18-1 = $1600
***** Last year’s fees included: tourney entry fees, coach pay, coach hotel and travel expense, gym rental, and 3 custom Mizuno jerseys along with a backpack and a t-shirt.
Tryouts for our HS age teams (15s-18s) will be held the week after July 4th.
July 5th – St. James (tentatively) 15s-16s = 5:30-7:15 //// 16s-18s = 7:30-9:15 (you can attend whichever practice fits best in your schedule).
July 6th – TBD
July 7th – St. James – 16s-18s = 6:30-8:30
July 8th – Sunrise – 15s-16s = 5:30-7:30 //// 16s-18s = 7:30-9:30
